QiKU Plans to Launch its First Smartphone in India by the End of November

Chinese smartphone manufacturer QiKU had unveiled its high-end smartphone QiKU Terra a couple of weeks back in China at a price of $314 (approximately Rs. 20,600). The Company had apparently sold 35,000 units of QiKU Terra within eight seconds of their flash sale going live. Now, the company is planning to launch its first smartphone in India which will have two versions namely QIKU Terra 808 and the QIKU Terra 810.

QiKU is the new entrant into the smartphone market which was established as a joint venture between Qihoo 360 and Coolpad. It had entered the Chinese market by launching three smartphones namely QiKU Terra, Luna and Note. Now, it has officially announced that it is going to launch its first smartphone in India in two variants. Here are the specifications and features of the pair of new QiKu smartphones.

Specifications

QiKU is expected to launch its two new variants namely Terra 810 and Terra 808 in India by the end of November. Both the devices have similar design and there are slight variations in their specifications.

QiKU Terra 810

QiKU Terra 810 will feature a 6-inch QHD display with 2560 x 1440 resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core chip, coupled with 4GB RAM. The handset will also come with an internal storage of 64GB. The company hasn’t announced the details regarding a microSD card slot. The device comes with two 13MP rear-facing cameras (Sony’s IMX278 sensor, f/1.8 aperture) which are located on the back of the phone with a f/1.8 aperture lens along with an 8MP front facing Camera. The new Android smartphone comes bundled with their own customized 360 OS operating system which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The new Terra 810 comes with an integrated fingerprint scanner on the back which is fueled by a 3,700mAh battery.

QiKU Terra 808

The QiKU Terra 808 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 paired with 3GB of RAM. The device sports an internal storage of and features the same cameras as its higher-end sibling, Terra 810. Both the devices supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE connectivity.

There is no word about the pricing and availability of both the variants of QiKU in India. Although, we expect it to be competing in the mid-range segment. As QiKU is the new entrant into the smartphone market, the company seems to be focusing on safety and security features along with competitive hardware. If it gets succeed with this launch in India, QiKU will be certainly taking on popular brands such as Motorola, Asus and OnePlus.
