College Student Found Dead After Getting Into A Car She Mistook For Her Uber Ride

Samantha Josephson, a 21-year-old College Student was killed after she got inside a stranger’s car that she mistook for her Uber ride.

The police said that she got separated from her roommate while they were on a night out in Columbia, South Carolina.

21-year-old Samantha booked an Uber ride at around 2 AM on Friday.

A CCTV caught Samantha getting into a black Chevy Impala that she mistook for her Uber Ride.

24-year-old Nathaniel David Rowland was arrested by the police as he is the primary suspect of the murder and kidnap of Samantha Josephson.

Police Chief of Columbia, W.H. Holbrook said, “What we know now is that she had, in fact, summoned an Uber ride and was waiting for that Uber ride to come. We believe that she simply mistakenly got into this particular car thinking it was an Uber ride.”

The body of Samantha was found 14 hours after she was last seen, the police found her body 90 miles away from Columbia, South Carolina.

After the police checked the CCTV footage that was captured, the police started a search party for the car, they located it on early Saturday morning. Nathaniel David Rowland, the driver of the black Chevy Impala tried to run away but was arrested by the police on the spot.

The police found Samantha’s smartphone inside the car along with bleach, a window cleaner, and anti-bacterial wipes.

The police have not yet revealed how Samantha was killed by Nathaniel David Rowland.

Police Chief of Columbia, W.H. Holbrook said that he spoke with the family of Samantha before the press conference.

He said, “Our hearts are broken, they’re broken. There is nothing tougher than to stand before a family and explain how a loved one was murdered. It was gut wrenching, words really can’t describe what they’re going through.”

The father of Samantha shared a photo of him and Samantha on Facebook with the caption of, “It is with tremendous sadness and of a broken heart that I post this! I will miss and love my baby girl for the rest of life. Samantha is no longer with us, but she will not be forgotten. It is extremely hard to write this and post it, but I love her with all my heart. I could continue to write about her, but it kills me. I sit here and cry while looking at the picture and write this.”

The safety guidelines of Uber advises its users to always double check the car’s license plate, driver match, and its description before they get inside the vehicle.
