A woman from Agra has passed away after she was brutally beaten up and gang-raped by her brothers-in-law, officials said that she succumbed to her injuries in a hospital.

The rape incident happened on June 20, 2019, but the woman passed away in a hospital on June 26, 2019.

Officials said that the woman was beaten up and was raped by her brothers-in-law inside their house in a village in Agra.

The screams of the woman were heard by a couple of minors in the village who informed the heads of the village.

Residents along with the head of the village caught Manish, one of the accused, and was given to the local police.

Kamal, another accused, was arrested by the police afterward.

Prashant Tyagi, a police officer, said that Kamal and Manish raped the woman as they wanted to teach a lesson to their wives, who are the sisters of the woman.
