Animation, Gaming Incubator Launched in Hyderabad – Awaits for Satya Nadella to Unveil Four New IT Policies of Telangana

Aiming to make Hyderabad the country’s startup capital and establish it as a top information technology destination, the Telangana government took another step by launching an incubation facility centre for startups on Saturday for future potential software area. The incubation facility centre is known as Innovation in Multimedia, Animation, Gaming & Entertainment (IMAGE) that houses for 232 startups/new companies spread over 30,000 square feet in Hitec City near the IT hub. According to the director C.V.D. Ramprasad of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), the facility has been developed at a cost of Rs. 8 crores.

The facility is planning to create the eco-system for the new players to operate under the parasol of T-Hub. This new incubator has been launched on Saturday exactly a month after the inauguration of T-Hub, announced as the largest technology incubator in the country. Telangana Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao inaugurated the facility and expressed his ecstasy as it was an initiative by the government towards developing a gaming and animation city in Hyderabad.

Now the government awaits for the city’s highly successful person, Satya Nadealla, CEO of Microsoft, to visit the city and launch four new IT policies undertaken by the new Telangana government. During Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s visit to T-Hub in Hyderabad on December 28, the government will be holding a big event wherein Nadella seems to unveil four new policies for IT.

Four New IT Policies to be Unveiled by Satya Nadella

The Telangana government has solicited Nadella to launch new policies for IT during the visit of Satya Nadella to his hometown by the end of December this year. The new policies that the government is planning to launch innovative startups include:

  • Innovation in Multimedia
  • Animation
  • Gaming and Entertainment
  • Electronic System Design Manufacturing (ESDM)

Telangana IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao said that an international conference on gaming, animation, multimedia and visual effects will be held in February next year. To concur with the conference, the foundation stone will be laid for gaming and animation city, which will be known as IMAGE. 

Referring to the awful floods in Chennai which hit the IT sector, the minister said Hyderabad has the unique opportunity as no other city is as safe as Hyderabad.

“No other city is shielded from natural calamities like cyclones, typhoons and earthquakes. We have to seize this opportunity and work for it,” he said.

KTR, as the minister is popularly known, said with the initiatives taken by the government during last 16 to 18 months, Hyderabad had re-asserted itself as one of the premier destinations of IT in the country. He also said that the government is laying greater emphasis for the next wave of development to come from innovation.

“Hyderabad will become startup capital of the country in real terms.There is no other city which is promoting startups, innovation and entrepreneurship in such a big way,” he said.

KTR also said that they have bigger plans for the growth of the city with the kind of planning and policy support and strive hard to make Hyderabad as a top destination in the country in a couple of years. Even, the CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai will be visiting India probably by the end of this month to describe the company’s plans for the country and there will be a meet with the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and President of India.
