Watch: Baby Elephant Being Rescued From Drain Which Was Stuck In It In Sri Lanka
A baby elephant was accidentally fallen in a drain in the southern port city of Hambantota, Sri Lanka on Sunday. It was a very small drain where men cannot get in to rescue the little elephant. Hence, they broke open drain near the main road.
It took several people, including a wildlife rescue team, to pull a baby elephant from the open drain. They teamed up with wildlife officials to rescue the animal.
They knocked out the walls of the narrow drain to make it wide enough to pull baby tusk out of it. The people attached ropes to the elephant’s legs and pulled it out.
After being rescued, the baby elephant was reportedly taken away for medical treatment after suffering what is believed to have been a broken leg.
