Diesel-powered Vehicles Likely To Be Banned In Hyderabad Also: NGT
The heavy motor vehicles of more than 2000cc are likely to be banned in Hyderabad city also. The National Green Tribunal has warned the Chief Secretaries belonging to seven states which include Telangana state also. The chief secretaries will be issued the warrant if vehicle details are not submitted as soon as possible.
Supreme Court hearing of this case filed by National Green Tribunal is scheduled on Monday. Diesel vehicles were banned made a huge change in the city of Delhi to reduce the pollution which is the major change that can be noted. It is reported by the National Green Tribunal that in about 15 cities of the country these diesel vehicles are causing pollution.
The pollution particle limit is reported as 2.5 which is maximum. People suffer from a cough, lung infections and other diseases when this limit exceeds. The pollution level in Hyderabad has reached 29.8 which is causing inconvenience to the people living in the city. Banaras is first on the list with 125.2 pollution level, Nagpur with 82.4, Mumbai with 19.42, Pune with 18.32, Chennai with 53.14, Patna 81.6, Bengaluru 31.07 and Lucknow with 35.5 according to pollution report.
National Green Tribunal Chairman, Justice Swatantra Kumar blast on the use of diesel vehicles in Delhi and Mumbai. To eight states the tribunal issued notices which included the states Maharastra, Telangana, UP, Karnataka, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Bihar. A report on Air Pollution Control is to be given by Govt. of Telangana to the tribunal very soon.
