Censor Board Released The Cut-List Of ‘Udta Punjab’ Movie, Have A Look
Top filmmakers in Bollywood had attended a conference to stand with Director Anurag Kashyap and support his film ‘Udta Punjab’. Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani, ordered 89 cuts in the film and told the makers to remove all the references of Punjab from the film.
Coming out in support of Udta Punjab, filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt and Anurag Kashyap alleged the board was intentionally delaying its clearance.
The CBFC has been given an ‘A’ rating as expected and released a cut-list in the film.
Here are the ‘cuts’ that the Censor Board doesn’t want the audience to watch.
Cut No.1: Delete Punjab’s signboard in the beginning
Cut No.2: Delete names of cities such as Jalandhar, Punjab, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Tarn Taran and more (All reference to Punjab city whether in songs or dialogues should be removed)
Cut No.3: From Song Number 1: Name of a drug (References to drug nowhere)
Cut No.4: Words from song 3 (Delete the words ‘Chitti Chitti Cock and Coke Cock’ from the song)
Cut No.5: Delete Abuses
Cut No.6: Delete words like MP, elections, Party worker, Party, MLA, Punjab parliament (No references: no govt rep references (38 mins)
Cut No.7: Song no: 3, delete the scene of a scratching Sardar.
Cut No.8: Delete the close-up shots of injecting the drugs wherever it appears.
Cut No.9: Delete the shot of urinating by Tommy in front of the crowd.
Cut No.10: Delete the line ‘Jamin Banzar te Aulad Kanjar’.
Cut No.11: Delete the name of the dog as ‘Jackie Chan’
Cut No.12: Censor board wants long disclaimers like The film focuses on the rising menace of drugs and the war on drugs and is an attempt effect of drugs. We acknowledge the battle against drugs being fought by govt and police but it can’t be won unless people of India unite against this menace”
Cut No.13: The Second disclaimer of fiction to be increased according to audio/video.
The movie slated to release on June 17 is likely to get delayed because of the issue going on about the cuts.
