Sushma Swaraj Comes To The Rescue Of Hyderabad Woman Tortured In Saudi
46 years old lady was tortured and starved by her Saudi employer is finally returning home at Fulaknuma after intervention by Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and the Indian Embassy in Riyadh. Ghafoorunnisa Begum is a Khadama at one Sultan Shareef at Shara Sultana, Riyadh.
A complaint was filed by Mohammad Naseer on Twitter to Sushma Swaraj and the Indian Embassy in Riyadh. Later she is released as Embassy contacted the employer.
Ghafoorunnisa is working at Sultans place where she is not paid his salary for 10 months and this led to severe deterioration of her health. Sultan also took her passport.
“After my sister was widowed a year back, she wanted to be financially independent. Her husband died from respiratory problems after suffering for four months. He has another wife and children staying at Jahanuma,” said the victim’s brother, Mir-Rashed Ali.
“She had complained against the Arab employer and gave his number and email id. When I checked with Sultan Shareef, he rubbished her claims and invited me to Riyadh to check myself the conditions she was living in. Now, I don’t know whom to believe,” he had said.
With the request from Mohammad Naser, Sushma swaraj told Embassy to take action in this case. He in his complaint stated that one lady named Ghafoorunnisa taken to an employer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
