Kapu Leader Mudragada Padmanabham was arrested on Thursday at his residence in Kirlampudi in East Godavari district after a high drama. He started an indefinite hunger strike against Andhra Pradesh Government.

The police were forced their way in by breaking the doors to stop Padmanabham who is consuming poison. However, the Police took him into custody and joined him in Vydya Vidhana Hospital, Rajahmundry with tight security.

According to the Police, doctors washed his stomach as a precautionary measure, and also collected his blood samples for tests. During the time of Padmanabham’s arrest, His wife Padmavathi, daughter, son, daughter-in-law and other family members were harassed by Police.

Padmanabham was demanding a government order withdrawing the cases on accused in the violent incidents at Tuni that led to the burning of two police stations and the Ratnachal Express on January 31.
