BSNL Offers 20GB 3G Data For Just Rs 50 Is Totally Hoax!
“BSNL offers 20 GB 3G internet for Rs 50; Data can be shared by users residing in any part of India,” this news is making rounds on the internet from past 24 hours. Is this TRUE? According to sources, State-owned telecom operator BSNL is yet to release an official statement & they confirmed that there is no such offer for consumers.
“BSNL has not officially declared any offer like 20GB 3G data for Rs 50 and neither does the company intends to do so,” he said. The move from BSNL could have stunned its competitors, and helped attract new subscribers at large, but it is not the case.
The incumbent telecom operators currently offer 1 GB of 3G data between Rs 160-250. This service is reported to be subsidised by the ‘Digital India’ scheme, aiming at pushing the reach of the internet to segments who cannot afford steep internet rates.
Apart from free roaming, BSNL is offering “very competitive” tariff rates such as the per minute plan where it is charging 10 paise per minute for on-Net voice calls and 30 paise/minute for off-Net calls.
This new scheme will definitely help BSNL get more customers and at the same time give wings to the Government agenda to get net access to masses, at an affordable cost. This scheme will definitely help connect more people. We have to wait for an Official Statement.
