Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra has finally confirmed on Twitter that she will be dining with the President of United States, Barack Obama, and the First Lady Michelle Obama at the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner this weekend (April 30).
Priyanka, who found global recognition with her character Alex Parrish in the American TV series Quantico, was earlier “not sure” about attending the dinner due to her work commitments. Also, earlier in the day, Hollywood news website Deadline had reported that PeeCee won’t be attending the event because of production scheduling issues.
Chopra finally confirmed the news in the affirmative when asked by a fan on Twitter whether she will be attending the dinner.

The 2016 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which will be US President Obama’s last one before his term ends, will be hosted by comedian Larry Wilmore and take place at the Washington Hilton. The Quantico star will be seated next to some of Hollywood’s biggest names like Will Smith, his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, Rosario Dawson, Kerry Washington, Shonda Rhimes, reality television star Kendall Jenner, among others.
The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is a tradition that began in 1920 and is held on the evening of the last Saturday of April at the Washington Hilton hotel. The non-profit White House Correspondents’ Association, whose members include the reporters, producers, camera operators and other journalists regularly covering the White House, traditionally hosts this annual dinner to raise money for journalism scholarships.
