A shocking footage of an excavator destroying a passenger plane was being circulated online along with the claim that the act was carried out by a disgruntled employee.

The 30-second video shows a yellow excavator raising its claw towards the aircraft. The arm of the digger then plunges into the front of the airplane several times, opening a large hole near the cockpit. The story circulated online claims that the jet costs £3.5 million and after being fired from his job, the disgruntled airport worker decided to smash up the Yak-40 in revenge. This video posted on YouTube on April 24 is now going viral.

While the video does feature real footage, there’s no evidence that the plane was destroyed in an act of revenge. Some even claim that it was actually a disused jet which was being scrapped. Old planes are often dismantled and sold in parts. So the man in the digger might just have been doing his job.
