Baadi village, Khargon District is known for suicides. It is also called as suicide village. People in this village commit suicide like crazy. In this village, one member from each family has chosen the path of suicide. Shocking aspect is that even the Sarpanch of the village committed suicide by hanging himself to the tree.

Around 80 people have committed suicide between January and March 2016. Rajendra Sisodia, the new Sarpanch of the village says that this is a sign of evil. Baadi is one of the backward villages of Khargon district. People are very much superstitious in the village.

In 2015, around 381 cases of suicide were registered. Sisodia says that there are 320 families in the village, out of which 1 member from each family has committed suicide. The population of the village is 2500. 350 people have already committed suicide in recent years, 80 being in this year.

People in the village think that it is the presence of bad evil. But the psychologists state that the reason for this is depression that occurs due to the usage of excess pesticides in the farms. They said that people in Baadi village mainly depend on the production of cotton. If there anything affects the farms, tension and pressure rise and make everyone think about suicide.

A committee has been appointed to find out the reason of the serial suicides.
