Four People Held For ‘Cheating’ Doctors To The Tune Of Rs. 1 Crore
Central Crime Station (CCS), Hyderabad Detective Department sleuths arrested four persons for cheating two medical students of Rs. 2 crores by promising them MBBS seats under the judiciary quota in Bhaskar Medical College near Chevella.
The accused persons are identified as K.V.G. Krishna Phani Kumar (46) of Amberpet, Puvvada Sai Babu (48) of Nallakunta, Tatipally Ashok Kumar (45) and K. Sathish Kumar (44) of Golnaka. The four had teamed up and cheated two doctors, Dr. Vinay Kumar Reddy and Dr. D. Rajeev who had previously worked at Axon Hospital.
Phani Kumar lured the doctors to invest Rs. 1 crore in a hospital project and promised 70 percent profits. “He again took cheques, promissory notes, gold ornaments, motorcycle and a laptop on the pretext of obtaining loans for the hospital and obtained loans by mortgaging the property,” Joint Commissioner of Police, Detective Department, T. Prabhakar Rao said.
A few months ago, Phani Kumar told the doctors that he could get seats in different medical colleges under judiciary quota and asked them to search for some MBBS seat aspirants. “Two parents approached Phani Kumar through the doctors. The latter collected Rs. 47 lakh and Rs. 50 lakh and duped them,” the official said.
When Phani Kumar started avoiding to return the doctors money, the doctors filed a complaint. the White Collar Offences (WCO) team of the Detective Department registered a case and arrested the four persons. They are investigating the accused.
