Aamir Khan Says His Wife Kiran Suggested Leaving “Intolerant” India
Aamir Khan is an Indian film actor, director, producer, television personality, social worker, screenwriter and philanthropist. Through his successful career in Hindi films, Khan has established himself as one of the most popular and influential actors of Indian cinema. Now he is news because of his statements made on a growing sense of “despondency” and “intolerance” in the country in an intolerance debate and expressed “alarm”.
In the Ramnath Goenka Awards function of The Indian Express Group Aamir spoke about the growing intolerance of the country also said that his wife Kiran Rao asked to leave out of India. Aamir said that “(Wife) Kiran and I have lived all our lives in India. For the first time, she said, should we move out of India? That’s a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make to me. She fears for her child. She fears about what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day. That does indicate that there is a sense of growing disquiet.”

Moreover, few people applauded Aamir after making these statements. However, most of the people are not happy because of sudden realization of the “intolerance”. Here are the social media reactions on Aamir khan.
Dear @aamir_khan. Did you ask Kiran which country would she like to move out to? Did you tell her that this country has made you AAMIR KHAN.

Aamir Khan is right. India is such an intolerant country that it made PK, which made fun of majoritarian religious beliefs, the biggest hit — The Bad Doctor (@doctoratlarge) November 24, 2015
Maybe Kiran Rao wanted to leave India because Aamir Khan threatened to show her Mela & Dhoom 3 back to back?
— The Bad Doctor (@doctoratlarge) November 24, 2015
And can we please allow @aamir_khan to express his opinion without labelling him or anyone. Jiyo Aur jeene do is what makes India great! — Rajdeep Sardesai (@sardesairajdeep) November 24, 2015
Had India been intolerant, Aamir Khan would not have been alive after PK.

This ploy of stoking up a controversy before some movie release might backfire for Aamir Khan this time. What if I choose not to see Dangal?

These feelings are heartfelt but coming from an actor who is an icon for millions in the country, these are also irresponsible. What’s your opinion?
