Indrani Mukherjee the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case is battling for her life. She was admitted at Mumbai’s JJ hospital after cops found her in critical condition under the suspicions of suicide. Although docs claimed that her health condition was improving while they failed to announce her out of danger. Doctors at JJ Hospital affirmed that though her current health is better than earlier however she is not out of danger.

Police are saying that she attempted to suicide in the jail consuming higher amounts of drugs which have been prescribed for her earlier. On Friday afternoon she was rushed to the JJ Hospital in Mumbai from the Byculla women’s jail she complained of uneasiness. Prison records which were provided to doctors of JJ Hospital briefed that Indrani Mukherjea was consuming anti-epilepsy medicines since September 11, 2015. Dean of JJ Hospital, TP Lahane said “Indrani Mukerjea is in deep sleep and her respiration is depressed. She is being given oxygen. In respiratory depression, we can talk of chances of survival only after 72 hours.”

Byculla women’s jail sources added that Indrani Mukherjea was found to be unconscious around 6 am on Friday and after being ascertained with her health statutes she was rushed to the hospital immediately. It is being said that she woke up at 5 am on Friday and read the Bhagavad Gita.

Dr Lahane  said “We think she has consumed some tablets, we are treating her on that basis.” Though earlier it was speculated that she had consumed drugs extensively while today’s medical reports have ruled out overdose. Every day Indrani Mukherjea used to be given two tablets one anti-anxiety and one anti-epilepsy as per the prescriptions of  a psychiatrist at JJ hospital

Bipin Kumar Singh, Inspector General (Prisons) said “The pills were prescribed on September 11 and she was supposed to take them from September 12 to 26.” Last night no one came over to visit Indrani Mukherjea as her mother Durga Rani Bora aged 82, is reported to be dead.
