Margarita with a Straw Review:
The movie “Margarita With A Straw” would definitely make you laugh at some instances while watching the movies while you would be leaving the cinema theaters with deep inner thoughts and tears in your eyes. Kalki Koechlin who plays the role of Laila in the film is an victim of cerebral palsy disorder which impairs her motor parts and like every girl she loves music, romance and people. Revathi who enacts as Shubhangi, mother of Laila, supports her through her hard times and daily needs. The twist in the movie comes out when Laila meets the meets Khanum (Sayani) and the followed consequences when she finds new shades to her sexuality in the movie. Rest of the story in “Magarita With A Straw” would answer the query such as can Shubhangi cope with Laila’s secret – and Laila with Shubhangi’s?
Broadly the film “Magarita With A Straw” is all about a cerebral palsy affected girl, Laila who has a love of life, tasting bittersweet flavors. Movies main lead Kalki Koechlin amuses with acting skills who expresses every common emotion of a girl effortlessly being imprisoned in a wheelchair. Other characters portrayed by Revathi, Sayani Gupta, Kuljeet Singh, Malhar Khushu are too found playing prominence in the movie. Every possible ‘challenge’ box is tickled by the script somewhat over-diligently. “Magarita With A Straw” deeply moves the viewers with its story plot being one a philosophical film leaving them all in an ambigous situation that whether if the body is a palace or prison.
