A Woman in West Bengal who was unable to survive by her drunkard husband’s harassment tied him to a tree and thrashed him to death. This incident took place in Midnapore, West Bengal. Her husband Manishankar Dolui used to work as a cook in Delhi and had recently returned to his village after leaving his job.

Since his return, he would come home drunk every day and beat his wife Bina. On Saturday, the woman who was tired of her husband’s harassment tied him to a tree at her house with a saree and thrashed him with a stick. Manishankar failed to resist the pressure of injuries. The neighbors stated that Manishankar used to beat Bina every day.

Ratan Dolui, who lives close to the couple’s house, said that on Saturday also Manishankar came home drunk and started beating his wife. “Bina had arranged for a Lakshmipuja on Saturday on the occasion of Nabanna. But she couldn’t complete the puja because of Manishankar’s abusing behavior,” said another neighbor Pratima Dolui.

Manishankar’s brother Prashant Dolui has lodged a police complaint accusing Bina of killing her husband. Dashpur police have arrested Bina. They are investigating if Manishankar died due to Bina’s assault or due to excessive drinking.
