About 200 Haj Pilgrim’s Suffocated and Fainted in Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday i.e; 23rd September 2015 due to the failure of the metro train, trapped over 200 pilgrims who suffocated and fainted. According to the reports ongoing Haj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, the door of a special metro train rolled out to carry Haj pilgrims from Mecca to Arafat misfunctioned.

Saudi officials said that “the rush of pilgrims to board the train on the Day of Arafat yesterday caused the automatic system of the train door of one car to malfunction, which left the Haj pilgrims stranded for almost 30 minutes”. In this incident,  around 200 people fainted and at least five people sent to the hospital.

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Engineer Abdul Latif bin Abdul Malik Al Al-Sheikh visited the train station on Wednesday to examine the cause of the technical failure that affected hundreds of Haj pilgrims.

In this year in Saudi Arabia,  there were many accidents which are affecting the Haj Pilgrim’s. Recently in a crane crash at the Grand Mosque about 100 people were killed and many of the pilgrim’s are injured. Also, two fires were reported at hotels in Mecca where thousands of pilgrims are staying, injuring several people and forcing evacuations of thousands. This year a large number of Muslims around 2 million people endeavored the Haj Pilgrim.
