According To This Guy, X-Men: Apocalypse Insults Lord Krishna & His Followers
X-Men: Apocalypse trailer is here and some people aren’t happy with it. On December 11, 20th Century Fox released the trailer for the upcoming movie X-Men: Apocalypse, featuring a line of dialogue that compared its villain, Apocalypse, to Hindu god Krishna. This has upset Hindu statesman, Rajan Zed who has spoken against it.
The official trailer of the movie gives a glimpse of the blue-coloured villain, Apocalypse (played by Oscar Isaac) saying, “I have been called many things over many lifetimes — Ra, Krishna, Yahweh” (Ra is the Egyptian Sun God and Yahweh is the national God of the ancient kingdoms of Israel and Judah).

This has upset noted Hindu statesman Rajan Zed who has now released a statement that condemns the film for hurting religious sentiments and he has asked director Bryan Singer to delete all references to Krishna from the trailer and the film.
Comparing #Krishna to villain #Apocalypse in #XMenApocalypse trailer was inappropriate. Delete references to Krishna unless scripture based.

“Such trivialization of Lord Krishna, who is highly revered in Hinduism, is quite inappropriate and disturbing to the devotees,” the statement read. “Lord Krishna was meant to be worshipped in temples or home shrines, not for pushing movies for the mercantile greed of filmmakers,” Zed said
“Hinduism was the oldest and third largest religion of the world with about one billion adherents and a rich philosophical thought and it should not be taken frivolously. Symbols of any faith, larger or smaller, should not be mishandled”, Zed noted.
X-Men: Apocalypse, also starring James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence, is scheduled to release in May, 2016. Hoping religion and fiction does not clash. Good luck for the release.
