Hero Shivaji, who has been staging a fast unto death protest demanding a special status for AP was suffering with severe health consequences as he has not consumed anything for the last four days. The Guntur police have shifted him to hospital.

“The fast launched by Sivaji is unwarranted in the present circumstances as there are more pressing issues like sharing of river waters. The special status is given to certain states because of their inherent features. Neighbouring states like Tami Nadu had already voiced their concerns over this,” said Professor of Economics, Hindu College, L.S.N. Prasad.

As Shivaji lost seven Kg in weight after he began his hunger strike four days ago asking the centre to keep its bifurcation promise on according special status to AP, the police swooped on the fasting camp all of a sudden amid protests of his supporters and took him to General hospital.
