At least one of the two American assistants, were infected with the Ebola virus was discharged on Thursday at a hospital in Atlanta, a spokesman for the charity that is working for them.

Brantly and Nancy Writebol were transferred from the West African nation of Liberia beginning of the treatment for the deadly disease in the hospital and in an isolation unit. Both were infected while working in a missionary hospital outside the capital of Liberia.

The Ebola outbreak has killed 1,350 people and counting over West Africa.

Ebola transmitted only by direct contact with body fluids of patients with symptoms.
