AP Govt Relaxes Its Deadline For Durbar Move From Hyderabad
Andhra Pradesh government is shifting all its employees from Hyderabad to their new capital city Amaravati by 27th June. State government indicated that moving seat of power to new capital would stretch by the end of August to relief Secretariat staff. Other sources say it may go beyond August.
S P Tucker chief secretary told that they would shift to temporary secretariat named the interim government complex at Velagapudi after its total completion.
“It would take another two months for the completion of the temporary Secretariat building, which means the shifting process will continue for two months beyond June 27. Staff will be shifted in a phased manner as the building progresses,” he told staff in the presence of reporters in his chambers in the Secretariat here.
“However, the administration will be technically run from Amaravati from June 27 itself. Hence, those who are ready to move can do so by June 27. All others will be shifted only after completion of the building by August,” he said.
The heads of departments are asked to relocate to Amaravati by June 27th said the Chief Secretary as they would scout for office accommodation. @00 employees with placards went to Tucker`s chambers on sixth floor of L-Block in secretariat her to resolve the issues before shifting to Amaravati.
Ch Krishna Prasad, belonging to Civil Supplies Department, told Express, “We are not against going to Amaravati. But so far, the road map for shifting has not been revealed to us. How can we move by leaving our families in Hyderabad?”
