This Australian Advt Depicting Lord Ganesha Feasting On Lambs Leaves Hindus Infuriated
Earlier this year, we have seen popular online shopping site Amazon taking digs at Hindu Gods and Indian flags. In this era of globalization, mutual respect and moral values are something that any country must value about. Every nation’s citizen must respect its neighboring nation or at least should not insult their values, after all, ethics are mandatory despite being successful and rich.
Since few years, there have been several situations when Hindus were far gone insulted on e-commerce websites, the various pathways of insults include printing Indian flags on doormats and selling them online, selling stickers of Hindu goddesses that are quite distasteful, and much more.
Individuals tried to raise concerns regarding the issue, but there is no fruitful result that has been acknowledged so far.
Well, this time, an Australian company has taken it bit far by making an advt in which Lord Ganesha is seen feasting on Lambs along with Jesus and Odin. And, that is a big insult to every religion and some serious actions must be taken on the same.
This is the complete advertisement video:
The makers tried to do something ‘quirky’ ad featuring gods, prophets and messiahs coming together for a grand feast, which promotes lamb ‘as the food of gods’ but it backfired pretty badly. Now, it seems that Meat and Livestock Australia’s (MLA) has more to face rather than simple media outrage.
Soon after acknowledging this, an Indian who lives in Australia took it to his facebook wall, quoted: “This is a disrespect to Hindu religion, hurting our sentiments and a senseless campaign, your team has got it totally wrong by implying Lord Ganesha is having lamb at the dinner table with other Gods.”
Following this, Rajan Zed, the President of Universal Society of Hinduism, sought an unconditional apology from MLA, saying, “such trivialization of a Hindu deity is disturbing to the Hindus world over, Hindus are urging Australia Advertising Standards Bureau to ban the new You Never Lamb Alone video ad.”
Check out the post from an Indian who is living in Australia:
While many Indians in Australia are spreading the word on banning this company’s food, MLA marketer Andrew Howie tells AdNews it wasn’t the brand’s intention, added that people mistook it.
