Maharashtra government has passed on official orders banning possession and sale of beef in Maharashtra and making it as a punishable offence after President Pranab Mukherjee gave his assent to a long-pending bill which sought to ban cow slaughter in the state. Beef lovers across the state of Maharashtra and India who received a big jolt are protesting and agitating against such as inhuman order which violates the rights of humans.

Maha Govt. Ban’s Beef With Rs.10000 Fine and 5 Yr. Long Jail Term

After 19 years, The Maharashtra Animal Preservation (Amendment) Bill, 1995 is in effect within the state as soon as it was passed. Newly framed amended bill bans the slaughter of all cattle, with the exception of water buffaloes. It also states that possession or sale of beef products would lead to the punishment of five-year-long jail term and a fine of Rs. 10,000. Hashtag #BeefBan is trending on Twitter and many other social networking sites such as Facebook where  morose tweets, posts are continuing to pour in. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis who cannot be counted obviously expressed his acknowledgments to the Hon. President of India.
