Blast on Local Train in Kolkata – 14 Injured
An explosion took place inside a compartment of Sealdah-Krishnanagar local train early this morning. The blast took place soon after the train left the station for Khardaha station. The incident took place at 3:55 am between Barrackpore and Titagarh railway station.
14 injured, seven were discharged after being given first aid while seven injured passengers have been admitted to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.

Police officials, RPF, Barrackpore and CID’s Bomb Squad has checked the train when halted at Barrackpore station. Main cause of the blast is the two groups entered the train in compartment number 5 of the local train. They carried hurled crude bombs, because of the rivalry the blast has took place.

SRP Sealdah Debasish Bej and Barrackpore police commissioner Niraj Singh rushed to the spot. From those in the compartment one of the witness claim, he saw a person carrying weapon got down the train after the blast. The Police said, from the those injured two are suffering their position is critical. They are transferred to SSKM Hospital from RG Kar hospital. All others are safe at Sealdah Railway hospital.
