A class 10 boy from a private school in Hyderabad died after a clash with his classmate during lunch. The incident came to light only when Amir Siddiqui, a student of St. Joseph’s Public School, died of brain injury at a private hospital on Wednesday. Police registered a case on the complaint of Siddiqui’s parents, who reside in Masab Tank.

Siddiqui and another student Shariyal had a fight at the school ground. Amir had apparently objected to the boy speaking to his sister, who is the latter’s classmate. Many students looked on as the argument soon turned violent with a fight between the two teenagers. Shariyal hit him on the head.

Siddiqui was shifted to Kamineni Hospital, where doctors on Tuesday night performed a surgery to remove clot in his brain. However, the boy did not recover and died on Wednesday (Sep 2) morning. Siddiqui’s parents demanded immediate action against the student who is responsible for their son’s death.

On Thursday, the police presented the accused minor before a juvenile court, which sent him to a juvenile home. Though a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been registered under Section 304 B. The effort would be to counsel the boy and send him home.
