Qualcomm Inc., which is an American global semiconductor company has made its initial debut inside a smartphone this year at the CES International Trade Show. Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, a processor that’s anticipated to unveil in many of this year’s flagship smartphones, made its first debut inside a smartphone at the CES show 2016. Qualcomm is a chipmaker that designs and sells wireless telecommunications products and services.

Rather than debuting inside high-end flagship smartphones like Motorola, LG or a OnePlus handset, it made its beginning inside the Le Max Pro by the Chinese brand, LeTV. LeTV is a comparatively unknown smartphone manufacturing company outside of its headquarters in China. At the CES 2016 international trade show, Qualcomm has unveiled the first smartphone that will be powered by the new Snapdragon 820 processor.

The global chipmaker confirmed that the Le Max Pro will be the first handset to feature its advanced top-end mobile processor. The Chinese smartphone firm is expected to begin trading the Le Max Pro smartphone with the latest Qualcomm chipset processor in the first half of the year 2016.

LeTV’s Le Max Pro to Run Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Processor

LeTV was originally an online video streaming company which entered into the handset maker only recently with a two new smartphones namely Le 1 Pro Superphone and the Le 1S. With the much-expected Snapdragon 820 chipset, however, the Le Max Pro’s debut start with Qualcomm’s significant name familiarity. With the announcement by the chipmaker, Qualcomm however, ‘exclusive access’ has been tossed out the shutter.

Besides the Snapdragon 820, the Le Max Pro comes with additional features such as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Sense ID ultrasonic fingerprint technology. The company claims that the fingerprint technology is more secure than the  capacitive sensors. Unfortunately, the Chinese brand, LeTV hasn’t confirmed all the specifications of the Le Max Pro.

Specifications

The new Le Max Pro smartphone sports a 6.33-inch display with a pixel resolution of 2,560 x 1,44opixels along with a pixel density of 464ppi. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. On the storage front, the device includes an internal memory of 32GB, 64GB or 128GB. On the Camera front, the smartphone comes equipped with a 21-megapixel rear camera.

The smartphone runs Google’s latest mobile operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The handset is backed by a 3,400mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 Technology. The device also has USB Type-C port, a new connection standard that guarantees to be faster and more dynamic than the usual Micro-USB.

However, the hardware of the device looks impressive, purchasing a LeTV smartphone from a reputable or well-known retailer outside of China is a different tale. Though the Chinese company is preparing for an official US presence, its official online marketplace doesn’t currently market smartphones. The company as not yet revealed the pricing or availability information for the device.
