On the occasion of New Year Eve, everyone is celebrating the moments as they wish. Here is a couple that celebrate the New Year Eve so differently by taking a selfie in front of a burning Address Downtown Dubai hotel. People were fighting for their lives, but this couple were seen taking selfies in front of the hotel. The incident took place when the fireworks are burnt while welcoming the New Year.

Instagram user Abdul Rahman Alateeqi took a selfie with his partner and posted it about an hour after the fire started. The post read: “Happy New Year My dear Dubai. May God bless you and keep you safe, you always surprise us with the biggest fireworks.” Some followers replied with comments such as “couples on fire,” and “lol” but others were horrified, calling it the most inappropriate selfie ever. The post was eventually deleted.

They also thought it was fine to use #DubaiFire along with it. But Twitter users didn’t forgive the couple for what’s being termed as ‘the most inappropriate selfie ever.’ Sixteen people were injured and one person suffered a heart attack during evacuation when 63-storey Address Downtown Dubai hotel was engulfed in flames. The situation seemed to be scary for everyone except the couple.

The Address Downtown Dubai hotel is situated beside the tallest building in the world Burj Khalifa. The 63-storey skyscraper was engulfed in flames with firefighters speculating that it may have been caused by curtains catching on fire. The blaze originated on the building’s 20th floor. The cause of the blaze was not known yet but the building was safely evacuated.
