Every day many people in the world die due to many reasons like age, diseases, accidents and suicides, etc. But there is another reason to die i.e. ‘Hunger’. Around 25 lakh, Indians die every year because of hunger. Many of us every day get into our beds peacefully. But there are many people who go to bed with empty stomachs and they are helpless. No one cares about them, even they are human beings.

In other case, 40% of the food produced in the country is being wasted for carelessly. They all don’t know that there are lakhs of people who are dying with hunger. This 40% of food wasted by the people will feed one-third of the country’s poor people hunger. Food is one of the major parts in each and every celebrations and festival in our houses. Many of us even don’t allow the visitors to leave without serving food to them.

Food has been given a lot of importance and given value where we all should feel bad for wasting it. If we think about the poor suffering from hunger, we had to realize ourselves that in spite of wasting food, it can be a solution for the hunger. Feeding India is one such initiative which aims to connect the major social problems facing today.

The ‘Hunger Heroes’, as they call themselves, do not create new food to feed the less privileged, but simply direct the extra food which is already prepared. They also tackle the problem at its roots, where they encourage people not to waste food at all. As the organization has fed about 3 lakh people in a single year, the organization is now on their next mission to awaken our fellow countrymen to realize something that change can start with just one person.
