A Day After His Wife’s Death, President Pranab Mukherji Receives World Leaders
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee were also present.

On Wednesday, Pranab Mukherjee was back at Rashtrapati Bhavan by 12:30 p.m. to carry out his official duties. According to the schedule the first task was to pay homage to Shankar Dayal Sharma, the 9th president of India, on the occasion of his birth anniversary on August 19. 
After paying his “floral tributes”,the next task was to attend a briefing sesion with the External Affairs Ministry, pertaining to the 2nd summit of Forum for India and Pacific Islands Cooperation (FICIP), being held on Wednesday.

After he attended the briefing session, The president of India is seen here paying homage to Gandhi on the occasion of 71st birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi at Vir Bhumi, the site of Gandhi’s memorial.

From there, he moved on to continue with his schedule for the day which include to host the ceremonial welcome of the delegates from 14 Pacific islands, who are visiting India to participate in the FICIP summit. Pranab Mukherjee hosting ceremonial welcome.
