Defence & Aerosupply Conclave Begins In Hyderabad: Telangana Govt

India is now capable of meeting the growing demands of defence and aerospace industries even as the ease of doing business in HyderabadTelangana has improved over last one year, Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh E S L Narasimhan said.

Inaugurating the Second Edition of the global conclave Governer said: “Today, we have the right skill, competence, determination and understand the importance of doing business in Telangana. Indigenisation is an important component of doing business and the state is confident that the growth of this (defence and aerospace) sector is bound to happen“.

Arvind Kumar, the Telangana Industries and Commerce Secretary said, “The idea is to make Telangana a hub of aerospace and defence where all activities, including R&D, manufacturing, incubation, will be provided at one place.

The 3-day conclave will serve as the right platform to help the growth of the defence & aerospace sector in the State. With the new Defence Policy planned by the Telangana, based on the deliberations of the conclave, it would give right impetus to the industry,” Jupally Krishna Rao, Minister for Industries, Handlooms & Textiles and Sugar, Telangana, said.

Niti Aayog member V K Saraswat said Indian defence industry offers huge opportunities of USD 200 billion and we are at the “threshold of this growth of the sector”. Scientific Advisor to Defence Minister and RCI Director, Satheesh Reddy were among other dignitaries present at the function.
