Delhi Elections Live Results Updates News Status Report- Live Streaming Information: Delhi elections became a high profile affair as they were concerned with the national capital only, but caught the imagination of the entire nation. The elections are going to be largely an AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) BJP and congress. The Congress party, that governed Delhi for three consecutive terms from 1998 to 2013, seems a mere shadow of its past. Political experts are of the view that the BJP may be able to capitalise on the ‘Modi’ and may emerge as the single largest party with clear majority this time around. While AAP is going to give tough competition to the BJP, it might not be able to reach the clear majority mark. Saturday’s exit polls may have predicted a major defeat for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party in elections in the national capital of Delhi.The electorate of Delhi turned up in large numbers to cast their franchise and to contribute towards bringing about the much needed change. Kota MP Om Birla, who was in-charge of the high profile Krishna Nagar constituency, says, “It is difficult to predict final results through exit polls.”

 

Delhi Assembly Elections:

Delhi Legislative Assembly’s first election was held in 1993 in which Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious. The last assembly elections were held in Delhi in 2013 in which Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won as many as 28 seats and formed its government with outside support of Indian National Congress (INC). In the 2013 Assembly elections, there were 11,753 polling stations with 11.9 million eligible voters out of which 6.6 million were men and 5.3 million were women including 405,000 first time voters.

Results in the crucial Delhi election will be announced on Tuesday 10th Feb 2015. Counting begins at 8 a.m. and the first trends will start to trickle in from 8.30 a.m by 1 p.m., India’s capital Delhi Elections that has been without a government for almost a year, will know the results of votes cast in over 12,000 polling stations on Saturday.

Delhi witnessed highest ever voting percentage in the February 7 elections with 67.14 per cent of the electorate voters exercising their franchise. Birla says, “It shows people’s faith in democracy. I wish there was cent per cent voting. “The premature exit of AAP’s leader Arvind Kejriwal as the capital’s chief minister last year doesn’t seem to have deterred a large section of the electorate from voting for him. In a shift from tradition, the BJP named its chief ministerial candidate and fought elections under Bedi’s name as against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name.Birla says, “The Central leadership will take the final decision on this.”

List of Candidates in Delhi Elections 2015:

The list of candidates for all the 70 constituencies have been announced. While Kiran Bedi is the  chief ministerial  candidate  for  BJP,  Arvind  Kejrival  is  for  AAP.  Congress  has  not  announced  its  chief ministerial candidate before the elections.

BJP and AAP(Aam Aadmi Party) were involved in a fierce battle to win majority in the 70-member Delhi Assembly. Delhi saw a turnout of over 67 percent on Saturday in voting for its 70-member assembly.The results will be declared on February 10th 2015.
