“Kriti has implied in the note that she didn’t want to pursue engineering, but Bachelor of Science (BSc). She wanted to become an astrophysicist. It’s strange because one can also become an astrophysicist after graduating from an IIT,” said SHO the police who is investigating the case of Jawahar Nagar police station.

“However, her JEE (Mains) results came out on Wednesday .Though the cut-off marks were 100, she scored 144. As per the coaching officials, it was a decent score and she had a good chance of cracking IIT,” the SHO said.

“Some neighbours had called up his wife, telling her that a girl had jumped from the fifth floor of the apartment building and she should check if it was Kriti. On receiving the call from his wife, Anshuman rushed to the spot and identified the girl as his daughter,” the SHO said.

“The neighbours told us that she rarely ventured out, except for going to the coaching classes, and was always seen busy with her studies,” Bharati the neighbour said the police.

After the post mortem and examination, the police have handed over the body to family members.
