Earthquake in Pakisthan : 5.5 Magnitude in Northwest Region Close to Tajikistan

On Tuesday, moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted various parts of Pakistan’s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Its tremors was felt in Malakand, Swat, Upper and Lower Dir districts of the province. More than 200 people got injured. Epicenter of the quake was in the Hindukush mountain ranges near Tajikistan border at a depth of 144 km, an official of the Pakistan Meteorological Department said.

Everyone afraid what could happen tomorrow. In September 2013, a 7.7- magnitude quake hit Balochistan province, killing nearly 400 people. A 7.6-magnitude earthquake in the Kashmir region in 2005 killed more than 73,000 people and left 3.5 million homeless. After those this earthquake occurred in Pakistan.

Its only few days after the Nepal earthquake, on 25th April Nepal has powerful 7.9 temblor jolted Nepal and neighbouring areas in China and India. More than 3000 people died and effected more than 8 million people, those people are left without shelter and food.
