Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Is Now Richer Than Google Founders Sergey Brin And Larry Page
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg surpassed the Oil magnets Charles and David Koch to become the sixth wealthiest person in the world. His company’s stock soared 13% on Thursday which made him become one of the richest persons in the world. Mark Zuckerberg earned a cool $1.6 billion in a single day, putting his new net worth at $33.3 billion.
These earnings beat street estimates, resulting in the rise in shares. The social networking company reported a 52% rise in fourth-quarter sales on Thursday while its net income saw a two-fold increase to $1.56 billion. As most of Zuckerberg’s fortune is tied to his holdings in Facebook, the stock price increase made him richer by $6 billion in one day.
Now the 31-year-old Facebook CEO is now worth $47.9 billion. The only people wealthier than Zuckerberg, according to Bloomberg data, are: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates ($78 billion), Zara founder Amancio Ortega ($69.7 billion), the Oracle of Omaha Warren Buffett ($59.4 billion), Amazon founder & CEO Jeff Bezos ($55.8 billion) and telecom magnate Carlos Slim Helu ($47.5 billion).
