Facebook Offers IIT Kharagpur Student Rs 1.5 Cores Pay Package

Indian Institute of Technology, premier engineering colleges across the nation have been in the news with the campus placements laying an incredible future for their students with Brobdingnagian career.  Companies and jobs are back with a bang on engineering campuses. The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other engineering colleges say they are seeing a surge in the number of companies and job offers. Salary packages have so far increased between 10 per cent and 20 per cent. And, to make the offers more attractive, even stock options are being doled out. Corporate companies such as Facebook, Google, and Oracle have been recruiting intellectual Indian students from these premier engineering colleges since past one month giving an encouraging response and offered a large number of positions to IIT Kharagpur talents.

Breaking the records of Shri Meghana final year Computer Sciences engineering pursuing student Meghana was placed in Google which was considered to be the highest package while an fellow IIT Student broke her record with 1.5 crore’s salary package. The offered salary of Facebook which was 1.5 crores was among the 163 offers given by 27 companies on campus placements of the first day on Monday.IIT Kharagpur officials said 1.54 crore is the biggest ever salary package got to student of IIT Kharagpur.

Deepali Adalkha is the women who hired by Facebook explains the reason why women don’t bag the top deals. “the reason is this year, only five women were there in the batch and most of us managed to get a good deal,since last few months I did a lot of coding work which helped me a lot to bag such a biggest offer of my choice” she said. The niche analytics consulting company EXL Service Pvt.Ltd. made the highest number of offers followed by the best international brands like Goldman Sachs, Visa, TSMC, VISA, BMGI, Baker Huges, Parthenon, Auctus Advisor were the first time visitors offering large no. of positions to the students of IIT Kharagpur students. Identity of Placed Student Is Ascertained

IIT authorities have refused to disclose details about the student or the company which made the offer, saying “this brings unnecessary attention to the student.” IIT sources claimed that the 1.54 crore offer is the highest ever package received by the Kharagpur unit and among the largest ever in all IITs. The highest number of offers (24) was made by niche analytics consulting company EXL Service Pvt Ltd followed by international brands like Visa, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Cisco, Microsoft IDC. The first-time visitors – Parthenon, TSMC, BMGI, VISA, Baker Hughes, and Auctus Advisors – offered large number of positions to IIT Kharagpur students. The total offers received so far stands at 251, which includes 88 pre-placement offers.

Deepali Adhlakha, an IIT Bombay student has bagged a Rs 1.4 crore pay package from the social networking site Facebook.”This is a huge thing for me I am very happy,” said the elated IITian. “The gender ratio is against us but even the guys got good offers from Google and Microsoft, so it’s not a gender thing, it just shows we are as capable as they are,” added Deepali.Responding to a question if she had any entrepreneurial startup plans, Deepali said, “For now I am just focusing on Facebook, later anything can happen, I might start something”.  While the older IITs are 50 days away from their final placements and the newer ones 20 days, they expect the 2014-15 placements to be better than last year. Lets us all wish that Indian Students would do well and gets placed in many other good corporates with good pay.
