There had been many people who were waiting for her and especially Janardhan Mahato from Bihar, who she had identified as her father from the photographs sent to her by the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. There are more three men who claimed to be her brothers. The twist in the story is that Geeta didn’t recognize anyone among them.

“Geeta met the Mahato couple today, but she could not recognize them. We have taken blood samples. We will get DNA tests of whoever claims that she is their daughter,” Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj. Because she has refused to go with the Mahatos and said they are not her parents, she will stay at a home in Indore,” said Ms Swaraj.

There is no any kind of disappointment in me at returning home, “I am very happy. In Pakistan I used to feel miserable,” Geeta conveyed reporters. Mahato claimed that the girl was his first born baby Heera, we lost her in a fair in 2004. Geeta’s foster family in Pakistan, the Edhis accompanied her to Delhi. Geeta was given an emotional farewell this morning in Karachi.

Geeta was around 10-years old when she crossed from India into Pakistan. There was no clear and exact proof, but Geeta showed through miming an explosion and shows how she ducked and ran before being caught by armed men. Geeta broke down on watching the film Bajrangi Bhaijaan and yearned for home, something she shared with actor Salman Khan.
