Bharatiya Janata Party MP Sakshi Maharaj triggered a fresh controversy after a video showing him asking a young girl to unbutton her jeans, in front of cameras. Sakshi was at BJP worker Maidan Singh’s house in Unnao after a police raid, where some of the family members including the girl were allegedly injured after they used force.

In the video, the BJP leader is shown sitting on a chair, surrounded by a group of people, while that girl is egged on to unbutton her jeans and show wounds suffered by her in the abdomen.

The despicable incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh and the girl was forced to undress, apparently to see the injury marks. How can an MP ask a girl to remove her clothes, that too in public?

However, MP Sakshi Maharaj blamed the controversy on media persons filming the incident and said it was at their behest that the woman unbuttoned her pants.

“I asked her to stop and said there was no need for her to show her wounds. The media people insisted she reveal her wounds. The moment that happened, I stood up … she is like my daughter. You can see the video for yourself,” the BJP MP from Unnao told.
