[VIDEO] Gorilla Shot Dead After It Grabs A Kid Who Fell Into Enclosure At Cincinnati Zoo
On Saturday afternoon, a family outing to the Cincinnati zoo turned tragic when a 4-year-old boy crawled through a railing and fell into a moat in a gorilla habitat. Video taken by zoo visitors shows a little boy, who fell into a gorilla’s enclosure and one of the gorillas standing over the boy in a shallow moat, This finally led to zoo officials shooting and killing the animal.
As seen in the video, the gorilla, a 17-year-old western lowland silverback named Harambe, dragged the boy around, and picked him up and held him. The boy was later rescued from the enclosure and was rushed to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The child was in between the gorilla’s legs when the gorilla was shot dead by an emergency response team.
