Gujarat Govt. Bans Mobile Internet Across State Following Hardik Patel’s Custody

State government of Gujarat has called off and banned the mobile based internet services across the state following the arrest and detention of Hardik Patel’s arrest and custody on Saturday. Director general of Police PC Thakur said “We have decided to ban mobile internet service in the state to tackle the law and order situation and to curb the rumours across Gujarat for an indefinite period.”

Mobile Internet Prohibited in Gujarat State by Government

On Saturday morning leader of the Patel community agitation, Hardik Patel has been arrested by the Gujarat state government along with other 35 supporters of him from Varachha area of Surat. Patel community agitators were arrested by the Gujarat state cops to block off their ‘Ekta Yatra’ which was being organized by them without prior permissions from convened local authoress.

Gujarat government has called off the mobile internet and wap services across the state from Saturday afternoon to 12pm on September 20 after the arrest of the Hardik Patel and his followers. Ahmedabad city police commissioner Shivanand Jha issued a notice to the pertained telecom operators in the state for the prohibition of mobile internet and broadband.

However following the arrest of the leader of the Patidar reservation stir Hardik Patel last month state government’s decision was upheld by the Gujarat high on Tuesday to impose a week-long mobile internet ban last month once riots broke out on August 25, 2015.
