Hacker Group Anonymous Strikes ISIS Militants – Takes Down 5,500 Twitter Accounts

Everyone got heart wrenched by the news of the terrific terrorist attack on Paris and France. Many people were killed in the awful attacks by the ruthless terrorists. An international activist hacker’s group, Anonymous has declared war against ISIS, the extremist militant group that claimed responsibility for the deadly attacks in Paris over the weekend. But, the war is not a kind of rally fighting behind the cause.

Anonymous posted a video to YouTube on Saturday in which a person wearing a Guy Fawkes mask representing Anonymous warned ISIS by saying that they will hunt them down and not let them go. “The French people are stronger than you and will come out of this atrocity even stronger,” is what they said. Anonymous also said, “We will launch the biggest operation ever against you.” “Expect massive cyber attacks.” As promised, Anonymous has started a cyber war against ISIS by taking down 5,500 Twitter accounts belonging to Islamic State.

Cyber War – Anonymous Takes Down IS Twitter Accounts

Anonymous, the hacker group has declared war against the ISIS militants after the Paris attacks and warned them that they will be launching a huge operation against the militants. As declared, the Anonymous hacker’s group has initiated a cyber war by taking down 5,500 Twitter accounts of the Islamic state.

The loosely organised hacking collective made the claim in a tweet one day after launching #OpParis campaign, which stepped up an earlier effort to shut down social media accounts of the organisation. Anonymous made its first move by taking down over 5,500 Twitter accounts belonging to Islamic State.

It was not instantly clear how the accounts would have been disabled. But the hacker group said that it posted the accounts to an online forum labeling them as #daeshbags, a reference to Daesh, an Arabic acronym for the Islamic State group.

Other Security Groups Joined the Cyber Storm Against ISIS

Other security groups like Ghost Security have also joined the cyber storm against ISIS. Ghost Security is an offshoot of Anonymous has revealed that Islamic State militants linked to the Paris Attacks which turned the whole of Europe upside down had to fund through Bitcoin payment systems.

They also allegedly reported that ISIS regularly uses cryptocurrencies to fund its operations. It uncovered a single address worth $3 million in bitcoins, which was owned by militant groups. These groups have strongly determined to use their practice to sway down the terrorists to fragments.
