Known for locking lips in most of his films, Emraan Hashmi has made a name for himself with his excellent performances in several hit films. Earning the title of the ‘Hit Machine’, Emraan celebrates his 35th birthday today. His popularity has risen from humble beginnings and today he stands among the crowd of superstars as one of the strongest.

Born on March 24, 1979, Emraan Hashmi is one of the most sought after actors in Bollywood today. He made his acting debut with Vikram Bhatt’s Footpath and followed it with the erotic thriller Murder, which emerged as a box office success. Hashmi subsequently appeared in several hit films, mostly under the Vishesh Films banner (owned by the Bhatts).

Hashmi is married to Parveen Shahani after six and a half years courtship and the couple has a son Ayaan Hashmi who was born on 3 February 2010. The actor was approached for an energy drink commercial recently forwhich he was reportedly offered a whopping amount of ₹ 4 crore.

He is also known as serial kisser in the bollywood world. Belonging to the filmy background, Emraan started his career as an assistant director in Vishesh Films on Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Raaz’. Hashmi made his film debut in 2003 with Footpath, which did not do well at the box-office. He and co-star Mallika Sherawat shot to fame with Murder. He later appeared in such films as Zeher, Aashiq Banaya Apne, Kalyug, and Gangster, which have done well at the box office.

In 2008 Emraan’s first release Jannat had a 100% opening which made it a hit at the box office. His first movie in 2009, Raaz – The Mystery Continues, was also a box office success, while his second movie of the year, Tum Mile, was not a box office success. Apart from the music that helped his career take off, his kissing scenes are well-received.

Emraan Hashmi is looking forward to the release of Mr X, a film in a genre that is a sea chamge from what he has done until now. “Its like stepping into new terrain for me. It is a very unique film and though I wouldn’t call it ba superhero film, I am excited to see how the audience reacts to something new like this” he said.
