The Department of Health and department of women and child welfare in a joint operation conducted a surprise check at a private clinic in sector 15 and BAMS doctor was arrested for selling MTP kits to women.

Dr. Aruna is identified as accused who is a resident of the house no. 7, Sector 15 Panchkula. For selling MTP kits to pregnant women from her clinic from the department received tip off. Deputy Civil Surgeon Saroj Aggarwal, District Project officer, department of women and child welfare, Baljit Kaur and Inspector Neha Chauhan are the team who raided the clinic.

“The accused doctor gave her an MTP kit for Rs 800, and was caught her red-handed with the cash,” said Kaur.

The doctor who is selling these kits was unable to show the degree substantiating her claim. The MTP kits consist the combination of two drugs Misoprostol and Mifepristone used for the medical abortion of pregnancy or termination of pregnancy.
