Hundreds Of Dead Fish Found In Ulsoor Lake In Bangalore For Second Time

Ulsoor Lake, which is one of the neighbourhoods of Bangalore City, is now in bad condition. Several fishes were found dead on the surface of the lake earlier this year in March. On Tuesday, the scene repeated again hundreds of fishes were seen floating on the lake.

Fish died

Though the authorities had taken charge and began the cleaning process, all the fishes weren’t completely removed from the lake. Residents surrounded by the lake said that the fish were dying for the past few days.

Garbage-and-plastic-in-water

The dead fish were found near the MEG area and exhale a foul smell. According to the residents out there, it is said that there has been a steady flow of sewage water into the lake which led to dropping the oxygen levels in the water and led the fish to die.

The side of the lake where dead fish were found is covered with full of plastic material and garbage. Prakash Javadekar, the Environment Minister had that time ordered a probe into the issue. Later he even announced funds for the cleaning up of the lakes in Bengaluru.
