Flipkart is a leading e-commerce company which has the return policy if the customer is not satisfied with the goods. This is taken as an advantage by a youngster and duped Flipkart of Rs. 20 Lakh. According to the reports Veera Swamy, 32 of Vanasthalipuram Hyderabad apparently duped the company by booking orders and returning the goods upon delivery. He would place the orders for valuable electronic items in the name of mother, father, wife, brothers and other known people in the neighbourhood. After the items were delivered, he would call up the call centre complaining that the goods delivered were of poor quality and take them away.

When the representative of the company came to pick back the goods he would keep the actual item received and put all the fake items in the box writing all the details on the box like item code, model number etc. Also, he had created the different fake mail ID’s and bank payment through different accounts. Whenever the good is reached to the Flipkart the money would be returned to respective accounts.

Flipkart representatives of Hyderabad lodged a complaint in Vanastalipuram police station as ” Veera Reddy is found to have made more than 200 purchases in different names in the last 20 months. Thus, the company claimed to have incurred a huge loss of over Rs 20 lakh”. Vanastalipuram police inspector P Pushpan Kumar who is investigating the case said that “We are verifying the contents of the complaint and the accused version”
