“….jump off from 24th floor if M S Dhoni asks”: Ishant Sharma

Indian pacer Ishanth Sharma shared some of his views on Captain Cool of India M S Dhoni after an interview after the ICC Cricket world cup and before the IPL tournament. He said “It was very difficult to accept, but at some stage you had to accept it. In 2011, I did not get picked in the World Cup squad. In 2015, I had a good chance. I was in the team and everything was going well for me but I still had to miss it because of the (knee) injury. It was tough to accept. The support staff and Mahibhai (MS Dhoni) handled me very well at a time when I was emotionally down. You want to be a part of such a team.”

After being provisionally selected for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Indian cricket team squad he has to miss his dream of playing ICC WC 2015 narrowly. He dreams of playing for ICC WC representing India  shattered before it started as he sustained a knee injury which saw him being sent back home from Australia.  Ishant thanked his skipper MS Dhoni for being extremely supportive and said he would never question any decision from him.  Ishant said, “It was very difficult to accept, but at some stage you had to accept it. In 2011, I did not get picked in the World Cup squad. In 2015, I had a good chance” on being asked about how he feels after missing his dream.

Ishant Sharma says he is ready to jump off 24th floor on MS DhonI'S CALL

Mr Sharma further added saying that “If captains like Mahibhai (MS Dhoni) tell you that you have to jump from the 24th floor; you would readily do that without thinking even once. Mahibhai helped me a great deal to cope with the disappointment.” Indian pacer who has healed now from the chronic injury is prepared to play the mega Indian cricket tournament Indian Premier League-8. He expressed his disappointment for missing his maiden World Cup berth although currently he is planning to manage the workload and is aspiring to deliver his best performance while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad team to have the best pace attack of all IPL teams. On being asked about as he determined with any goals with respect to the Pepsi IPL 8 and his cricketing career he responded as “I don’t set any goals because you tend to put pressure on yourself. It is better to play according to the situation. I have been playing for so many years now, so I know what to change and what I need to do in certain situations.”

Though he has all that respect towards MS Dhoni he has to face Dhoni in the IPL and he assures no less than a serious contest while playing against to him. After all career and personal lives are different. Till date is was truly an frustrating career so far for the lanky pacer of India as whenever his career seems to assemble tempo, it hits a barricade in the form of wretched injuries. If we recall from June 2014 to March 2015 he has played only in 10 matches in all the formats. All India Round Up wishes the lanky Indian pacer its best wishes for his rest of career ahead and to be a successful bowler of Pepsi IPL 8 season.
