Indian-American Scientist Arnab De Wins Springer Theses Award
A prestigious springer Theses award is received by an Indian American scientist in recognition for outstanding in which he developed transgenic mice to study a critical tumour suppressor.
By New York`s Columbia University Arnab De is nominated. Before he developed peptide-based prodrugs as therapeutics for diabetes and received the Young Investigator Award at the American Peptide Symposium.
Springer is awarded by thesis prize which is a leading global publisher of renowned scientific journals and books with Ph.D. research and outstanding recognition.
Top-ranked international research institute selects the best thesis annually for publishing in the book series of “Springer Theses: Recognising Outstanding Ph.D. research”. 500 Euros is the additional prize for the winners.
The research is highlighted by European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) reports. ‘Fundamental relevance to a general readership’ is highlighted by EMBO. Ph.D. thesis of Mr. De is dedicated to cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, Kolkata`s presidency university.
Mr. De said: “Two things that have influenced me the most is sports and education. This thesis is dedicated to Sachin Tendulkar not only for the cricketing joy he provided me but also for being a constant source of inspiration to all Indian youth.”
In 2007 Ole John Nielsen shared the Nobel peace prize as a member of Intergovernmental panel on climate change with US vice president Al Gore in 2012.
