1. Uttar Pradesh

Out of 2,300 gang rape cases Uttar Pradesh recorded around 573 cases, the highest in the country. UP recorded 189 custodial rapes, accounting for over 90% of the offence.

2. Rajasthan

In Rajasthan 3,467 cases of rape registered. Out of 2,300 gang rape cases Rajasthan recorded around 414 cases.

3. Delhi

During the past years, Delhi reported a larger actual number of reported rapes than other cities. Odisha has earned a dubious distinction by registering 82 gang rape cases in 2014, fourth highest in the country. Odisha has also recorded number sixth position in rape cases in India, according to the recently released data of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). According to the data, a total of 14,606 cases have been registered for women related crimes while 14,683 women are victims.

5. Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh also tops the list of sexual offences under the IPC. The highest number of rape cases 5,076 were reported in Madhya Pradesh. About 46% rape victims in MP have been minors.
