She was rushed to Mumbai’s JJ hospital at 2 pm on Friday. The hospital authorities confirmed this morning that she has now regained consciousness and was taken off the ventilator last night. JJ Hospital dean, Dr T P Lahane confirmed that Indrani was on anti-epileptic pills since September 11. “We are not sure if she had consumed all the pills together. The stomach wash has been sent to Kalina FSL for forensic analysis,” said Dr Lahane. “Medically, she is responding to oral commands. She is a semi-conscious state, with her respiratory continuing to be of concern,” said Lahane.

“We cannot say that she is out of danger as it will take 72 hours for the poisonous substances to be completely purged from her system,” said a doctor from the hospital, adding that she is responding to her name being called. Another doctor in the hospital said that the necessary blood and urine test reports were carried out to the team of CBI(Central Bureau Investigation) officials for the detailed information on her medical condition.

It is suspected that Indrani went into depression after learning about the demise of her mother in Guwahati on Tuesday. She was prescribed anti-depressants called Mirtzapine and Etizolam in minimum doses.

The 43 years old Indrani was arrested on August 25 for her illegal role in the sensational murder of 24 year old Sheena, her daughter from an earlier marriage, in 2012. Sheena was allegedly kidnapped from outside National College in Bandra and strangled to death in a car by Indrani, her second husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai.

Indrani, wife of former star India CEO Peter Mukerjea was hospitalized due to the overdose of Drugs on Friday afternoon. Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered an inquiry.
